The United States and Canada have been allies for over 100 years. We even have joint military bases. (such as NORAD)

I think it stands for North Atlantic Treay Organization. It was originally formed as an alliance against the Soviet Union, during the Cold War.

They are now thinking of adding Russia (Use to be known as U.S.S.R) to NATO. I just find that funny since a couple of years ago, we were fighting with them.
