Obviously, we all spend a fair amount of time on the computer - more so than the average person, to put it modestly. More specifically, the vast majority of us devote a significant amount of time to reading others' opinions and also stating our own on internet forums. Some of us grew up on internet forums, some of us are growing up on internet forums, and some of us just recently found these internet forums. Now, I'm not going to beat around the bush by saying this: most of us are addicted to these forums. If you think you aren't, try to completely avoid every forum you frequent for 14 days. "I'm leaving" is always followed by forum members laughing about how they'll be back in a week, and sure enough, them coming back in about a week.
Now, we all had first posts on our first forums. The first internet forum posts we ever made all led to hundreds, thousands, or in some members' cases, tens of thousands more.
Do you regret making that initial post? Do you wish you could turn back time and just never had learned about message boards? Think about how much you could have accomplished in the time you've posted about, but think about how much you've personally developed in this time as well. In a nutshell, the question is...
Has internet foruming had a positive or a negative effect on your life? Explain.

i think it iis Positive because many people think that when you are on the computer you do not interact with people however that is wrong because of these forums so we can disscuse each others views about News and general also things like MSN are used to talk to other people and to interact with them and now with the introduction of the Webcam we can actually see the face of the person that we are talking to. And of course people are addicted to forums but at least we are not addicted to such things as drugs and drink and at least we are not out having sex and stuff like that so in someways we are actually doing somthing constructive unlike certain people i know who are always taking drugs and being prats and whats wrong with computers and the internet anyway??? nothing of course well apart from viruses and the like. and if you lead a healthy life why cant you sit infront of the computer and actually you are getting exersice think of all those finger muscles being streched and the like i can tell you that my arms are beginging to ache. Any this is theone aka will signing off see you later also visit my new thread in the of topic dissucutions in the computer section Mac Mania post away and lets get this forum back on track. see you all later and happy posting. Keep up the good work Acer.

Personally i think that it is a positive and a negative effect. It's positive because if your having trouble talking to your friends or family about a problem you have you know that you'll have friends that you don't see to help you along the way and that will therefore give you a confidence boost. Also if you really love something, say gaming for example but none of your friends are really into gaming you usually want someone to talk to about it and so with the forums you know that at least one person on the forums will also be really into gaming and so you will be able to talk to them about it rather than boring your friends by talking to them. Another reason is because those people who find it hard to communicate with people face to face can communicate with people on the internet and find someone they can trust that may just help them to be more confident and have better communicating skills and therefore helping their personality for the better.
But on the other hand it has a negative effect because if you are on the internet for too long it can effect your eyes and your social life and you may find people who also neglect their families just to spend time on the internet. Another reason is because as i said before it could help change your personality but it may not be a good change, but a bad change for it could make you more tempermental or less confident. Also it's hard to know who your talking to and whether or not they are being their true selves or if it is all just lies upon more lies.
All in all i would probably say it is more of a positive effect but there will always be the negative side.

Great responses there guys! I think our lives needs to be feel more emotional and positive, than being too negative and having too much pressure and self-esteem on yourself. I think the improvement of everyone is needed at this time to order us that we need to work on our goals more than ever so we can achieve that mark wholeheartedly.
