As most of you know, in China they have a population control law: one child per woman. Let's just make up a hypothetical situation and say each female in China, and we'll say China has a 50% female rate, has her one child. Should death rates remain consistent, the population would be cut in far more than half within the next 40 or 50 years. Then, it would continue being cut. Simple math, simple logic.
Now, let me lay something on you guys. Ready? This planet is overpopulated. Now now now, I'm not saying we should resort to mass genocide quite yet, but the population is increasing exponentially; we're all baby-making factories, and for the most part, we're all making babies. Those people who aren't making babies are compensated for by the people who are making a lot of babies. More than compensated for. In a nutshell, for every 7,000 people that die, there are 11,000 more born to replace them.
Now, here's my question to you: when are we going to swallow our pride, shove our hippie freedom bullshit, and get this under control? China's law is simple, and China's law is effective. Sure, of course it's not perfect, but what law is? What law ISN'T under heavy debate? What law ISN'T controversial?
I say it's time to restrict the growth in human life, before humanity becomes an epidemic.
